Raiding my divine archive

It's been far too long since I've posted. Not sure why, maybe I can't be bothered, or I lack motivation. Possibly a combination of both? Anyway, been looking at some of the images I took earlier in my blogging 'career', unpublished images. Well here they are in all their monochrome glory.

The first image is dedicated to WJS, her love of bridges and all that. It's an image of a local footbridge over the river Hull. I've walked over it a few times as a shortcut from work to my sister's house. In years gone by,employees from all the local factories on their bicycles traversed this bridge. Now, apart from the odd pedestrian it's become an anacronism.

The 2nd image is my take on a social problem that seems to get worse day by day. Stolen cars are left all over the city, but they have to be burned out before the local council will move them. Something similar happened a few months ago during Sunday lunch at my parents. A seemingly abandoned car spontaneiously combusted (local youths, running in all directions) I dread to think of the consequenses if it was next to my parents house.

Hiatus

I'm going to give this blog a rest. One reason being my template has gone to hell. I will be back, possibly with something a bit naughtier, edgier. But I WILL be back, I promise. Take care 'pop pickers', not 'arf.

Just the ticket

I'm feeling a bit 'chuffed'. Received my very tasteful 'Nelsonica 06' ticket yesterday. Really looking forward to it. 'Our Bill's' only live performance this year.

On the downside, the 512mb XD memory card for my Fuji F450 is dead. However, those nice people at Fuji will send me a replacement after they've had a look at my duff card. Hope I can get this sorted before Hornsea Carnival. Looking forward to taking lots of images.

Local history

Some more images from my local park (Hull's East Park). These are remnants of the old wall that used to surround Hull several centuries ago, when towns had defenses. These two 'plaques' aren't much bigger than dinner trays, they form part of the 'rockery' smack bang in the middle of the park, created out of bits of the old defences. My only regret is that the old stone watchtower has been removed, had endless fun playing in it as a 'bairn'.

Oh, yeah. Just updated t'other blog with some local industrial colour, and some of my own poetry. Give it a deco, honestly it's not in the slightest 'vogon' in it's execution.
