Low light images of East Hull

Some images I took a few hours ago after first supporting my digicam on anything solid, setting to 'landscape', iso 400 and letting the camera do the rest. The images are cropped, brightness / contrast fiddled with to get redness down, that's all really. Enjoy my little experiment.

Urban decay

I was inspired to post these images of mine after visiting 'Urban Outlook'. These were taken in early September '05. The first two are of the 'Bankside' area of Hull, a few minutes walk from my home. The third is near my place of work.

Ancient and modern

An image I took atop 'The Deep' overlooking Hull's 'Old Town' and 'The Holy Trinity' church.

Revisiting my past part 2

Some more randomish images taken of Hull's 'Avenues' area, near Greenwood Avenue. A much improved area that was pretty rough when I was growing up. I make no excuse for the mundane subject matter....... deal with it.

By the riverbank.

This is an image of the banks of the River Hull, taken during a stroll to my parents just before Christmas. On the right you can see the dyke embankment, and some of the houses behind it. Like large areas of the UK, Hull is below the flood plain.

A grotto in a pub.

Amazing, you can go to some places loads of times and not notice what's under your nose. As it was with this little statue in the beergarden of 'Ye Olde Whyte Harte'. I caught this image whilst consuming a few beers with co workers, after finishing work for Christmas a few weeks ago. The beers probably explain the composition (lol).

I must be bored......

The Movie Of Your Life Is A Cult Classic

Quirky, offbeat, and even a little campy - your life appeals to a select few.
But if someone's obsessed with you, look out! Your fans are downright freaky.

Your best movie matches: Office Space, Showgirls, The Big Lebowski

Found the above whilst surfing the blogosphere, a bit of 'filler' but it adds a bit of interest. Funnily enough there may be a grain of truth here, hmmmm?

Not 'arf pop pickers.

Late Night Lineup

Thought I'd post, no images, but then again it's midwinter, no light and I've been working all the hours I can find. Committment hey? Or should that read committed?

Local 'wildlife'

My friend, the 'Dorito Kid' has asked me to take some nature / wildlife images and post them on my blog. Well, it's a bit too seasonal weatherwise, and dark so nothing new in that department right now. However, I did take these one dull October evening last year. My first attemps at nature photography, not quite gotten used to the 'macro' settings on my 'Box Brownie'. What do you think?

An opportunity perhaps?

Well, seems I can't reinstate my deleted blog entries afterall. So I've decided to start over again. I've a lot of images to upload to this new improved blog with it's new improved template. Not the end of the world afterall.

A NEW START

Yours truly has inadvertently deleted his blog, I'll reinstate the original entries as and when I can.

And this week's photo assignment is..........

Earlier in the week, before my blog went tits up, I was give the challenge to take some images to the theme of 'hopeless' by Lucas. Here are my pathetic attempts at some 'artistic license'.

About me

  • I'm JJ
  • From Hull, Yorkshire, United Kingdom
  • I still haven't got the hang of Thursdays, nevermind life in general. Perhaps I should get out more?
