Play 'Misty' for me

The weather in Hull over the last few days has been a bit variable, misty starts, bright afternoons and not so bright afternoons. This morning was particularly foggy, couldn't see the other side of Rockford field. A work colleague who lives out in the 'Sticks' tells me it was fog lamps all the way to work this morning. Still, makes for some atmospheric images.

They're everywhere!!!!!

Microwave telecommunications transceivers. At least there are none near my crib, but they're all over the place in Hull. Atop of blocks of flats, near residential areas, the town centre etc. I have a recurring nightmare that one day I'll wake up one morning with one stuck on my head, simply because I kept still too long. Not to mention the possible health risks.

After some really dismal weather this last few days, I awoke to a dusting of snow (It was gone before noon). These are a few images I captured on the way to work. Enjoy!

Hull Top100 blogs

Just registered with hullbloggers.gotop100.com.

There aren't many of us yet, but from little acorns...........

I'm fortunate enough to have a long weekend off booked. If it doesn't sile down I may have some half decent images to post. I'm informed by a rather shapely member of the MET office to expect snow. Hmmm, might make for an interesting photo op?

Not quite Coronation Street

York rooftops. Amazing what you can do with ladders!

The front door to someone's crib (for the benefit of all visiting Americans)

Well, it's not mine. Another York shot, walking the wall.

Some floral colour

My memory drifted back to October last year, my photographic weekend in York. In lieu of Spring thought I'd post something colourful and floral. Shame it was overcast when I took this.

Shooting the moon.......lunar eclipse

Took this about 10 o'clock, the Earth's shadow had by then covered up over half of the Moon's face. I tried to capture an image later, but it was too dark . Still, I'm really happy with what I captured.

Shooting the moon.......an experiment.

I'm told, photographing the moon is amongst the most difficult challenges a photographer can face, especially to an amateur like me.

Here's my first attempt using my camera at iso 200, manual focus, 1600th of a second, heavily cropped. I'm really pleased with the contrast, I can see details on the moon's surface, but they're not very sharp. I guess that's because in my EVF the moon is a VERY bright object, devoid of detail. It would be easier if I had some visible clouds to actually focus on, but not bad for a first attempt. Now then, it's a total lunar eclipse tonight.........
