The 'orrible Who at KC Stadium

I'm still buzzin' after last night's cracking performance. The Who were 'banging'. I really wasn't expecting so much energy, commitment and enthusiasm from a couple of geezers in their 60's.

They played a lot of their old stuff, as well as a few tracks I wasn't familiar with, off their new cd. Highlights for me were
Baba O'Reilly, Won't Get Fooled Again', The extended My Generation, and excerpts from Tommy.

There was an air of 'Woodstock' at one point in the proceedings. A young female fan removed all her upper garments and proceeded to jiggle about a bit, much to the astonishment of onlookers and her embarrassed boyfriend. Needless to say, this didn't detract from my enjoyment.

Anyway, before I disappear and purchase the DVD and CD of last nights performance from www.themusic.com, thought I'd point you in the direction of a fellow Hull blogger, Kev Brown and his review of the gig. Incidentally, Kev's posted some images as well that give you a good idea of what it was like in the pits.

As if I haven't posted enough lunar images

More lunar images tonight as the moon becomes fuller, including an image before I use my camera's zoom lens to give you, the viewer a bit of perspective.

Even more lunar photography

This was taken a few minutes ago. My best lunar shot so far. Click on the photo to get the full sized image and look at area where the moon just goes into shadow. You can make out some crater details. I'm well impressed with little Winona.

Some more lunar photography

It's been far too long since my last post. Life has a habit, work as well, of getting in the way. Anyway, here's something I captured only 30 minutes or so ago. It was cool, 'cause I just opened my front door and hey presto. Well okay, I did reduce the exposure, up the shutter speed a bit. Believe it or not the sky was blue, but the exposure wiped out any surface textures on the moon, hence my 'experimenting' a bit.

Anyroad, it's near my bedtime unfortunately, work in the morning (for one week at least) and then some 'r'n r' for a week. Oh, I'm seeing the 'orrible Who' next Saturday at Hull's KC Stadium. Quite looking forward to that, as well as a whole week off away from the 'piss ant hole' to use an Americanism I heard about 20 years ago. Nighty night pop pickers, not 'arf!
