A Yorkshireman's home is his castle

Well, in this case the above statement is almost true. A piece of wonderful architecture, not that far from home. Reminds me a little of Wayne Manor from the early 60's, camped up version of 'Batman'. Well at least it has character and individuality, which is more than can be said for some of the local housing estates close by.

You are right that is very "mini" Wayne manor. I like it :)
My house was built in 1895 which is very old for NZ considering we are a relatively new colony lol.

Silly me, I've just been informed that this house is owned by noneother than our very own John Prescott, Deputy Prime Minister.

It looked a lot better with the solar panels.
